backup is useless , there is no PC
all i have is a plain HDD , without PC
i can access the HDD , all i want is to copy the bookmarks

i have read its in profile folder
but all i see is cache-folders and 2 files named urlclassifier

i need to know exact location and file-/folder-name , if it is possible at all to copy

Without OS then u have to copy the location called profiles as u said in the #1

X:\Users\usename\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ better u copy complete location of profiles which contains , history , bookmarks , passwords , but not plugins data..

    Default Re: FireFox help

    found a working way
i am to late for it , but it may be of use to others

    simply make a back-up

    here is how
    -go to bookmarks , show all , import & back-up , back-up
-choose a location on a safe place/disk and save as ............json
-on new PC ; go to bookmarks , show all , import & back-up ,restore , choose file
    -surf to location of .............json

    note
your passwords and usernames dont sit in bookmarks but in cookies
so , make sure you have these passwords and names either on paper or in your head

Easiest way to do this for anyone that comes to this thread in the future is to install 'MozBackup' as that will allow you to select what you would like to create a backup of (including passwords/cookies - unlike the solution above) and then you can restore this at a later date
